How many tickets can I earn?

Up to 50 tickets for churches/organizations who have packed shoeboxes before this year’s Challenge. Up to 52 tickets if you are packing for the very first time. You must pack at least 25 boxes to be eligible for any ticket rewards. Please see the formula below:

  • 2 Tickets for first time registrants PLUS…
  • 25 – 49 Shoeboxes Collected = 1 Additional Ticket
  • 50 – 74 Shoeboxes Collected = 1 Additional Ticket
  • 75 – 99 Shoeboxes Collected = 1 Additional Ticket
  • 100 – 149 Shoeboxes Collected = 1 Additional Ticket
  • 150 – 199 Shoeboxes Collected = 1 Additional Ticket
  • 200 – 299 Shoeboxes Collected = 1 Additional Ticket
  • 300 – 399 Shoeboxes Collected = 1 Additional Ticket
  • 400 – 499 Shoeboxes Collected = 1 Additional Ticket
  • 500+ Shoeboxes Collected = 1 Additional Ticket per each 100 Shoeboxes collected

How will I receive the tickets I earn?

All tickets for Herschend Family Entertainment properties are distributed via email in January following National Collection Week, November 12 – 19. You will receive an email with a link to print ticket(s) yourself. Tickets for Elitch Gardens will be sent via mail in the early spring. It is critical that you provide your primary email address to make sure you do not miss any communication from us, please add shoebox@mail.hfecorp.net to your address book or safe sender list.

Is there a phone number I can call instead of using the online process?

We do not have dedicated phone representatives for the Shoebox Challenge. You can submit a question for general or technical questions here.

Can I register as an individual?

The Challenge is designed to work with churches and organizations who then train and rally their church and community to pack shoeboxes. If your church is not already participating, offer to serve as the Challenge contact and register the church. If you are not involved in a church, contact us here and we will help you connect with a participating church in your area.

Why do I have to register again if I have participated in the past?

Participation varies by year, and we rely on registration counts to determine interest in the Challenge and plan outreach accordingly. We need to know who is participating to best steward the program.

What if my church or organization has participated in the past and I would like to pass on leadership to another individual?

How do I add shoebox@mail.hfecorp.net as a “safe sender” to receive emails properly?

You can start by adding shoebox@mail.hfecorp.net to your address book or contacts list. Also, be sure to check for our messages in your “junk” or “bulk” folders as they may have ended up there instead of your inbox. For more help on adding us as a safe sender, we have provided links to great “how to” articles for some of the most popular email tools. Simply select your email tool from the list below and click on the link for specific instructions.

I forgot to register before the deadline. Can I still confirm my shoebox count and earn tickets?

No. Deadlines are important and help us plan for ticket volume. If you have not received a registration confirmation email, you are NOT registered and are disqualified from this year’s Challenge. We hope you will participate next year.

If my church serves as a collection location, can I count the shoeboxes we collect in addition to the shoeboxes my church packs?

No. We rely on the honor system to avoid double counting the number of shoeboxes collected and overstating the impact of the Challenge. Thank you for your understanding.

Can I select multiple attractions for tickets?

No. You must choose one attraction of interest when you register. You will not have the opportunity to modify your preference after registration.

What is the minimum number of shoeboxes my group needs to pack to earn a ticket if I am NEW to the Challenge?

25 shoeboxes.

Why didn’t I receive a reminder to register for this year’s Challenge if I participated in the past?

When registration opens we send an email to all past participants and those who have completed the interest form on the site. The email is sent from shoebox@mail.hfecorp.net. Please add this email address to your address book or safe sender list to ensure messages do not automatically go to your inbox “junk” or “bulk” folder.

Can I earn additional tickets if I refer other churches to participate?

No, but we truly hope you pass along the information anyway. The more participation, the better to reach children around the world with the love of Jesus. Don’t be shy!
